Experience the James River!
The James River Rundown is a series of canoe, kayak, and SUP races running through the heart of Virginia on the scenic James River. The James River Association is organizing a two-day 120-mile race, 50-mile race, 25-mile race, and 5-mile fun float this year.
The 2017 event began on June 24th in Lynchburg and concluded at Goochland County's Tucker Park, on Sunday, June 25th. Participants and spectators joined together for a post-race celebration featuring food, beverage, live music, and programming offered by L.L. Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools.
The James River Rundown is a Waterkeeper Alliance SPLASH Series Event, Presented Nationally by Toyota and benefiting the Upper and Lower James Riverkeepers®.

Proceeds from the James River Rundown benefit the James River Association. The James River Association works to protect the James River, from the headwaters in the Allegheny Mountains to the mouth at the Chesapeake Bay, through core programs of Advocacy, Community Conservation, Education, Riverkeeper, and Watershed Restoration.
